Lisa Wright
It sounds trite but in reality nearly every organization has its Gal Friday. And our nomination for GF of the Year is Lisa Wright. Lisa has actually worked with us for six years and the title could have gone to her at any time during that stint. She started with us as a bookkeeper but we know and revere her most as the Queen of Captioning. We love the staccato sound of computer keys as she puts words to photos – and we estimate she has captioned more than 150,000 of them during her reign.
Another vital function that only Lisa has seemed to master is maintaining our clip files – logging in and filing or adding to clip books the thousands of Houserstock’s published photos. We are one of very few agencies to provide our photographers clips of their published work – thanks to Lisa.
Resourcefulness is a given among folks who take up residence in our rural world and Lisa has plenty of that, managing her own income tax and accounting service in addition to working with us. She also maintains a shelter for homeless pets and is a member of a local advocacy group that champions spaying/neutering of pets. Oh yes, she is also a student, enrolled at Eastern New Mexico University studying occupational therapy and she recently won a scholarship to continue in a masters program. We’ve suggested that with that kind of training she should be able to assist the Housers endure agency management well into old age.
